Narrowband elliptical waveguide filters for microwave communications equipment
Abstract
A design procedure is presented for implementation of narrowband microwave filters. Tolerance diagrams for bandpass filters are approximated with the aid of elliptic functions, and the transfer function is used in arriving at equivalent bandpass filters represented by a series of resonators not coupled in cascade. The waveguide realizations of the filters are arrived at with the aid of bimodal cylindrical resonant cavities. Predicted and experimentally measured amplitude characteristics of fourth-order bandpass filters are compared.
