Method for the rapid temperature measurement of silver surfaces
Abstract
A method for the rapid temperature measurement in the range 0 to 600 C of silver surfaces at wavelengths around 320 nm was developed. Time resolution in the microsecond range and spatial resolution in the square millimeter range were shown to be possible. Advantages and disadvantages of the method are discussed. Examples of rapid heating during capacitor discharge and during carbon dioxide laser irradiation are given.
