Evaluation of the effect of target motion on target detection time using a TV sensor
Abstract
The work discussed here was conducted in support of an internal research and development program conducted by the Missile Systems Division, Rockwell International, to determine the effect of target motion on target detection time using a TV sensor. Equally divided groups of fifty-one subjects viewed a TV displayed scenario of a stationary, a slow, or a moderately fast moving target of a tank type vehicle in a lightly cluttered rural setting. The report includes the laboratory configuration and the procedures of the experiment. Analysis of the data was the responsibility of Rockwell International and is to be reported by that organization.
