Electronic transition lasers; Proceedings of the Second Summer Colloquium, Woods Hole, Mass., September 17-19, 1975
Abstract
Subjects related to the chemical production of excited states are discussed, taking into account frequency up-conversion by laser induced chemiluminescence, an analysis of visible chemiluminescence from gas phase aluminum oxidation, chemiluminescence studies of ternary flame systems for chemical laser potential, the study of metal-oxide chemiluminescent reactions, and photon yields and spectroscopy of several chemiluminescent germanium atom-oxidizer reactions. Electronic laser transitions in atoms are also considered along with excimer and electric-discharge molecular lasers. A description is also presented of applications of theory to laser-related problems, giving attention to the formation of electronically excited products in chemical reactions, the electronic states of argon oxide, and the theory of electronic excitation in chemical laser reactions. Individual items are announced in this issue.
