Estimate of signal to noise ratio on the basis of received messages in the case of double modulation
Abstract
The paper considers a system of double modulation, in which several message units are transmitted by means of one signal. Recognition and estimation of messages is carried out on the basis of the same observed realizations and every unitary measurement is performed by means of a 'long' n-element control unit (message packet, code combination). In this paper, the optimal signal to noise ratio with respect to power at the input of the system is determined in the case of double modulation by means of binary codes and orthogonal useful signals which are uniformly stable with respect to the noise. The effect of recognition errors on the quality of measurements is studied.
