Observations of linear polarization of the Crab Nebula during an occultation by the solar corona. II.
Abstract
The paper reports on observations of the linear polarization of the Crab Nebula (Tau A) at a wavelength of 7.2 cm when the source was occulted by the southern solar corona in the middle of June for the years 1971 to 1975 (excluding 1972). The purpose of the observations was to measure the Faraday rotation of the linearly polarized radio waves from Tau A with a view to investigating the coronal magnetic field and electron density at a southern high heliographic latitude and a distance of 5-10 solar radii from the sun.
