Electromagnetic field of a semibounded plasma with external sources. I
Abstract
Solution of the joint linearized Maxwell-Boltzmann equations with arbitrary external sources and satisfying boundary and initial conditions is obtained for the cases of a semibounded homogeneous isotropic plasma with purely mirror and purely diffuse scattering of particles at the surface. The correlations obtained permit analysis of the electromagnetic field excited by a given system of external sources and reveal the structure of the spectrum of the electromagnetic self-excitations of the plasma half-space and the dependence of this spectrum on the model for the interaction of plasma particles with the bounding surface.
