Evaluation of the possible ammonia content in the Venusian atmosphere
Abstract
Calculations are presented for the spectrum of disk-averaged brightness temperature of the thermal radio emission of Venus in the wavelength range of 0.3-20 cm for some atmospheric models differing in gaseous NH3 content. A comparison of computational results with radio astronomical measurements yields estimates of the NH3 content in the Venusian atmosphere. These estimates are then compared with data obtained directly from the space probe Venus-8 as well as with radar measurements.
