50 picosecond detector laser pulse monitor
Abstract
A conventional Shottky barrier-switching diode is shown to be photosensitive and to have exceptionally high speed of response. Rise-times less than 50 psec have been observed in response to mode-locked lasers. The detector operates equally well at 532 and 1064 nm. The design of a high-speed detector mount is described.
