Schemes of constructing automatic instruments for continuous recording of inelastic and elastic properties of metals
Abstract
The paper examines some of the basic principles and relations used in measuring the energy dissipating characteristics of metals, for example, the ratio of energy dissipated by a vibrating system to the energy fed to it, designated by 1/Q, and then describes an installation for measuring 1/Q and Young's modulus in bending and torsional vibration tests that features automatic continuous recording of the measured data.
