Seismic-ray tracing

Seismic-ray tracing is first compared with the more familiar optical-ray tracing. Its role in the investigation of the earth's interior is then set out and a summary of the results of such investigations is given. Finally, a simple exercise on seismic-ray tracing is posed and discussed.
