Effective procedures for the determination of the signal-to-noise ratio of digital filters of different structure
Abstract
A description is presented of a very effective procedure for the theoretical noise calculation in the case of wave digital filters. Wave digital filters of various structures can be considered as a combination of 'elementary cells'. The recursive formulas developed can be used to calculate the canonical polynomials of circuit combinations on the basis of the canonical polynomials of the elementary cells. The obtained expressions provide a basis for the partial transfer functions required for the noise calculation. Aspects of digital filter control are investigated and simulation procedures of various types are discussed.
