Automation in photogrammetry - Recent developments and applications /1972-1976/
Abstract
Hardware and software in projects aiming at automated photogrammetric operations are reviewed. Advances achieved are surveyed country-by-country (Canada, West Germany, France, Japan, Netherlands, USSR, Switzerland, Britain, and the United States) with subheadings for particular types of equipment and techniques. Use of digitizers in stereoplotting, on-line minicomputers and pooled minicomputers, digital terrain models, density correlation on epipolar lines, digital image processing, automated imagery, pattern recognition systems, new optical techniques (coherent optical correlation, fiber optics, optical spectrum analysis), satellite imagery, automated cartography, and computer-generated imagery and models are among the lines of progress discussed.
