Interpretation of a spectrographic observation of the resolved components of kappa Pegasi.
Abstract
The A and B components of `cPeg were resolved on 1975 May 25 at the coude' feed telescope of the Kitt Peak National Observatory. An untrailed spectrum of each component was obtained. Star A showed double lines. The radial velocities, as well as the characteristic appearance of the spectra, suggest that star A is a spectroscopic binary with a period of 4.77 days; star B is the previously known spectroscopic binary with a period of 5.97 days. Key words: spectroscopic binary - radial velocities
