The rapidly varying emission spectrum of HD 158503.
Abstract
Spectrograms of the Be star HD 158503 taken during four consecutive nights show that the emission in the hydrogen lines and the Fe II lines varies in intensity and velocity, while the unusual Ca II emission remains constant. It is suggested that this system may be a short-period, interacting binary with the primary below the main sequence. Key words: emission lines - circumstellar material - spectroscopy
