Calibration of the rate transfer characteristics of a rate sensor
Abstract
The test methods used to calibrate the rate transfer characteristics of rate sensors are given, and the need for standardization between different agencies for results to be comparable is stressed. A program unit, which enables the rate transfer test procedure to be automated, thus ensuring exact repeatability of test conditions, and eliminating errors due to human intervention, is described, and the future potential of the rate transfer program unit, both as a useful test tool and as a means for providing more efficient utilization of expensive test facilities, is discussed.
