Experiments concerning the observation of objects through scattering media by means of hologram storage
Abstract
It has been theoretically established previously that the radiation propagating from an object through a scattering and absorbing medium is Doppler-frequency-shifted with respect to the frequency of reference radiation. This approach permits one to determine the relation between the velocity of the particles of the scattering medium and the exposure time during which the scattered radiation is practically incoherent with respect to the reference radiation. Many holograms of the same object can be recorded on a holographic plate, but with different realizations of the scattered field (the method of hologram storage). This paper describes laboratory and computer-simulation experiments involving the method of hologram storage.
