Aperture synthesis without phase measurements.
Abstract
Under certain circumstances, aperture synthesis techniques may be used to obtain an unambiguous map of an area of sky without any measurements of phase. The necessary conditions, the accuracy of the map and the circumstances under which the method may prove useful are discussed. An experimental evaluation of the technique is described.
