Electromagnetic levitation of a conducting sphere
Abstract
The behavior of a conducting sphere set in a nonuniform high frequency induction is studied theoretically. The results evince the existence of alternate areas of current. The microscopic and global forces of levitation as well as Joule effect are obtained on computer for a given inductor in function of the frequency, of the resistivity of the material and for a given position of the sample in the induction field.
