Some Recent Developments in Computation of Viscous Flows
Abstract
A case study of viscous flow over a flat plate on which a compression ramp is mounted is discussed as an illustration of the concept of using simplified flow models that approach asymptotically the correct limit flow structure for infinite Reynolds number. The limit-flow structure is given by the Stewartson-Neiland triple-deck theory. A semi-implicit scheme was applied to the solution of this limit problem, and the accuracy of the method was evaluated by comparison with experimental results and the results of other models.
