Rimmed Cassegrain open resonator (T)
Abstract
The possibility of field control at the edges of mirrors has suggested the resonator geometry called 'rimmed Cassegrain resonator' which constitutes a kind of telescopic resonator and consists of two plane-rimmed mirrors of different apertures. Feasibility tests are presented based on the numerical simulation of the performance of this rimmed Cassegrain-Fabry-Perot geometry. The simulation consisted of the solution of the appropriate integral equation which was obtained by twice applying the two-dimensional form of the Huygens principle and taking as a reference surface one of the two mirrors.
