Concerning the calculation of interface tailoring conditions in a shock tube
Abstract
A method is proposed for calculating, from the shock wave intensity, the initial parameters of the gas, the operating time, and the optimal ratio of the high-pressure chamber length to the low-pressure shock-tube channel length. It is shown that under conditions of interface tailoring, the relations for the corresponding gas parameters at the interface behind an incident shock wave are almost independent of the shock intensity, and that they depend weakly on the intensity at the interface behind a reflected shock wave.
