One of the new trends in the development of materials science
Abstract
The paper reviews research work pertaining to theoretical foundations and application of alloy microalloying on the basis of concepts about intercrystalline internal adsorption of impurities. The state of the art of this new branch of materials science is discussed. It is concluded that investigations of intercrystalline internal adsorption can disclose its key role in the formation of materials properties, reveal the effects of factors not yet accounted for, and make it possible to gain insight into the phenomena involved in metal processing, thereby determining new ways in perfecting material technology.
