Some questions in the design of screen transducers
Abstract
An experiment was performed investigating the influence of the area of the screen and its position on the emf in the receiving circuit of a screen transducer in the form of two circular coaxial circuits between which the screen moves. An approximate expression for computing the degree of screening, defined as the ratio of receiver emf with the screen to receiver emf without the screen, in terms of screen area, area of transmitting and receiving circuits, form factor, and position of the screen, was tested in experiments with different-shaped screens and found to be accurate to within 40%.
