Bounds on aperiodic crosscorrelation for binary sequences
Abstract
Binary sequences with good crosscorrelation properties are needed for multipleaccess communication systems. Since the aperiodic autocorrelation function is more thoroughly studied, the paper presents results which relate the meansquared value of the aperiodic crosscorrelation function for periodic binary sequences to their aperiodic autocorrelation function. Bounds on the meansquared aperiodic crosscorrelation are determined in terms of the meansquared aperiodic autocorrelation. Two inequalities for the aperiodic crosscorrelation parameter are derived as an upper and a lower bound on the sum of the squares of the aperiodic crosscorrelation values. Applications of relevant formulas are discussed.
