Numerical calculation of the radiation from a guiding structure of arbitrary crosssection
Abstract
A quadrature scheme is described for the calculation of the radiation field of an openended guiding structure directly from the longitudinal field components of the mode in the aperture. The calculated radiation pattern for a rectangular waveguide and a regular polygon dielectric rod agree well with known results. Radiation patterns for rectangular dielectric rod are also presented.
