Investigation of low-frequency variations of some geophysical and space-physical phenomena
Abstract
Variations in C-14 content in response to variations in geomagnetic field strength were studied. A special program was devised for processing data on field strength and discerning latent periodicities in field strength variations over the past 10,000 years, to cope with the broad spread of values and errors creeping in from different sources. An inverse correlation between variations in isotope content and the ratio of magnetic fields of the past and present is discerned. Correlations between solar activity, radiocarbon concentrations in the atmosphere, and climatic change are viewed as important and to be handled with caution.
