Dynamical effects of possible solid cores in neutron stars and degenerate dwarfs.
Abstract
We show, in the context of a simple model for a fluid star with a denser solid core, that the presence of the fluid surrounding the core can inhibit the storage of elastic energy in the core. We consider the influence of the fluid on the corequake and wobble behavior of this model of degenerate dwarfs and neutron stars.
