Calculation of the astronomical refraction from aerological data.
Abstract
A numerical integration method for calculating astronomical refraction at zenith distances close to 90 deg using aerological data is presented. Astronomical refraction values calculated by the proposed method using the standard atmosphere model compare closely with results obtained from the Pulkovskii tables (1956) for the same conditions. Corrections for deviations in atmospheric conditions from those of the standard atmospheric model should be introduced into the calculations. It is recommended that air density at the observation point be used as the argument for introduction of the necessary corrections.
