Interaction of hot stars and of the interstellar medium. VIII. Low-dispersion spectra of galactic nebulae and planetary nebulae.
Abstract
Low-dispersion spectra in the wavelength range A were used to study the excitation of 79 Galactic Nebulae. From these spectra and some additional data on the luminosity of the stars, 24 objects definitely appear to be planetary nebulae, some showing a remarkably high excitation (for instance Sh 2-71); a number of objects are H II regions or H - knots inside H II regions. Additional data would be required to ascertain the physical nature of 19 objects, among which are the bright nebula Sb 2 - 128 and several low-excitation objects. Key words: H II regions - planetary nebulae - optical spectra
