Rocket airglow photometry
Abstract
Using the noise in signal behavior of photomultipliers and the luminosity resolution product of wavelength discriminating optical devices comments are made on the use of photometers, spectrometers and interferometers as on continuous and noncontinuous data recording in rocket airglow photometry. Some technical selections and solutions made in two rocket programs are presented as: a two channel multiplex photometer for small rockets, preflight cooling of photomultipliers, and construction and performance evaluation of a dayglow light baffle.
