Boundarylayer flows of viscoelastic fluids
Abstract
The asymptoticsuctionprofile problem and the Rayleigh problem are investigated for a nonlinear viscoelastic liquid of the Maxwell type. Solutions are obtained by solving the appropriate boundarylayer equations numerically in each case. The results are used to investigate some of the properties of twodimensional steady boundarylayer flows and to investigate the transition of a viscoelastic flow from its highshearrate to its lowshearrate limit.
