Boundary-layer flows of viscoelastic fluids
Abstract
The asymptotic-suction-profile problem and the Rayleigh problem are investigated for a nonlinear viscoelastic liquid of the Maxwell type. Solutions are obtained by solving the appropriate boundary-layer equations numerically in each case. The results are used to investigate some of the properties of two-dimensional steady boundary-layer flows and to investigate the transition of a viscoelastic flow from its high-shear-rate to its low-shear-rate limit.
