Modular fast capacitor bank

The report describes the development of a fast capacitor bank module storing 55 kJ at 100 kV dc, capable of operating by itself or as part of a larger system. The module is gasketed and uses two triggered gaseous dielectric rail switches operable over the voltage range 15 to 50 kV dc. The module inductance is 8 nH.
