Some contribution to the heat conduction problems with radiative boundary conditions
Abstract
The present paper uses an eigenfunction expansion technique to solve an equation in the outgoing radiative flux for diffuse boundary-layer radiation in vacuo. The outgoing radiative flux is obtained in terms of harmonics of a term representing the direct wall emission. This solution is applied to the boundary condition for a conduction problem with radiation on the walls. The approximation is linear in nature, and the greater the expected temperature excursion (Tmax-Tmin), the greater the number of harmonics of wall emission required.
