Digital generation of wideband LFM waveforms
Abstract
A description is given of a digital linear frequency modulation (LFM) waveform generator which was designed to generate a broad range of LFM waveform parameters with low waveform distortion. A unique aspect of this generator is the capability of generating waveforms with RF bandwidths of up to 35 MHz with a digital sampling rate of only 10 MHz. Attention is given to the LFM algorithm generator, the single sideband modulator, the X16 frequency multiplier, the test results, and the error sources.
