Cryogenic source of polarized atoms of hydrogen and deuterium
Abstract
An apparatus producing electron spin polarized atomic beams of deuterium and hydrogen is described. A cryopumping system, a superconducting sextupole magnet and liquid nitrogen cooled dissociator with a r.f. discharge are used. A possibility of developing cryogenic polarized sources is shown. Some advantages of such sources are discussed.
