Domestic U.S. transmission services using Westar communications satellites
Abstract
The paper surveys the first year of operation of the first operational communication satellite designed to provide domestic C band service to the United States. A brief description of the Westar system and each of the services offered is given together with representative measurements of parameters for FDM/FM voice, single voice channel per carrier and video traffic. In addition, the projected digital data service is described.
