Conservative filtering for orbit determination, volume 1
Abstract
A theory of conservative filtering for real time orbit determination was developed which fulfills the requirements of reliability under all circumstances and of compatibility with a computational load stemming from the real time application. The fundamental concept upon which the development of the theory is based, is to treat systems nonlinearities, as well as possible modeling errors, which are the most serious sources of filter divergence, as fictitious noise for which suitable characteristics are derived for model equations.
