Potential automation in hologrammetry
Abstract
Hologrammetry has been established as an interdisciplinary field combining coherent optical techniques with photogrammetric and mapping operations. The direct hologram and the holographic stereomodel may be used for the extraction of positional and mapping data relying on the conventional method of the floating dot. Furthermore, coherent optical correlation employing heterodyne detection may be exploited for automating the process of contour generation. Photogrammetric aspects of two methods, correlation in model space and correlation in image space are analyzed and discussed.
