The effect of the geomagnetic storm of 7th August 1972 on the motion of balloon-satellites 1963-53A and 1968-66A
Abstract
All visual observations of satellites 1963-53A and 1968-66A carried out from July till September 1972 in Eastern Europe and in England, Finland and the Netherlands as well as all photographic observations of AFU-75 type cameras in the framework of the program 'ATMOSPHERE' were treated by the original and by the modified PERLO method. The modification means the parallel use of subprogram CROSSING and SPACECOOR in the first step of data processing. The effect of the strong geomagnetic storm from the 4th to the 9th of August 1972 on the motion of the two satellites has been studied.
