Analytical and experimental correlation of HF chemical laser flow data
Abstract
The results of a study undertaken to compare data in an HF chemical laser-type flow environment are discussed. Calculations are compared with excited state HF concentrations measured within a two-dimensional mixing zone developing between two initially unmixed supersonic streams. Both laminar controlled and turbulent controlled mixing conditions are investigated. The application of a two-equation turbulence model to describe laser cavity turbulence levels and mixing rates is also discussed.
