Boiling liquid superheat
Abstract
The incipient boiling temperature is considered along with the maximum liquid superheat and the experimental determination of the maximum liquid superheat. The experimental determination of the temperature field around a growing bubble is discussed, taking into account the choice of the method, the microthermocouple probe, the dynamic calibration, questions concerning the experimental apparatus and the procedure, and a comparison of experimental results with different models of bubble growth. Attention is also given to the statistical characteristics of liquid superheat fluctuation in pool boiling.
