Certain problems of processing secondary radar signals
Abstract
The paper describes the basic problems concerning processing of secondary radar information and several approaches to solving these problems. The condition of equal delay, ensuring coincidence of the evaluated coordinates with the coordinates of primary radar, is derived. An approximate formula is also derived for calculating the probability of target detection. The criteria for detection of information are such that the second and third thresholds are separated. This results in reduction of the required memory capacity. A statistical analysis of the number of targets within radar range is carried out so that the maximum target number within the radar beam can be estimated.
