Limiting transformation of the complete integral in the problem of two fixed centers
Abstract
Aksenov's (1963) integrable problem of two fixed centers can be used effectively for solving many problems of space dynamics. The limit version of the problem arises when one of the attracting centers is removed to infinity, retaining its former influence. It is shown how one can pass from the complete integral of the initial problem to that of the limit version of the problem without the need for solving the Hamilton-Jacobi equation.
