Photographic plates for emission spectrographic analysis
Abstract
The emulsion characteristics of 12 different photographic plates used in spectrographic analysis were compared. Six of these, manufactured by either Eastman Kodak Co., or Agfa-Gaevert Ltd., represent possible replacements for the other six, manufactured by Ilford Ltd., as these are scheduled for withdrawal from the market by late 1975. Results are presented for contrast, speed, and spectral response comparisons. Recommendations on replacement of the Ilford plates in standard laboratory methods are given and the future work program is discussed.
