Preliminary results obtained using a rangegated pulsed TEA-CO2 ladar imaging system
Abstract
A rangegated ladar imaging system based on a pulsed TEA-CO2 laser is described and low resolution (24-by-32 element) ladar images of targets at ranges between 45 m and 1.74 km are obtained. Comparison with visible light photographs, digitized using the same spatial resolution, was made and degradation of the ladar images due to target specularity and amplitude scintillation was discussed. Techniques for processing and analyzing the ladar images are described.
