The CO fundamental bands in the solar spectrum
Abstract
The results of a study of CO lines in the * delta v equals 1 bands in the solar disk spectrum are presented. The photospheric spectrum is recorded using a balloon-borne spectrometer from 40 km altitude. From a comparison between the observed and synthetic solar spectra are compared. An agreement is shown using the best available solar and molecular data. Results are discussed and compared with other investigations and explain an apparent discrepancy among previous results.
