Test methods for the ground qualification of a radome for high speed missiles
Abstract
The paper presents results of missile radome qualification tests, whose aim was to measure the thermal and mechanical characteristics of the radomes and also their radioelectrical performance. The test facilities included a hypersonic wind tunnel and a solar furnace. Particular attention was paid to simulation of flight conditions which would cause thermal and mechanical deformations of the radome and thus lead to radio signal distortion.
