Time averaged properties of central orbits.
Abstract
Formulas are derived for the distribution of the number of observations and the relative amount of time spent at given altitudes and angles from periapsis for bodies under the influence of a central force. The remote observation distribution function is calculated for a spinstabilized earth satellite. Derivations are made of the stationaryremote observation function, the onsite distribution function in true anomaly, and an onsite distribution function for hyperbolic orbits.
