Phase slipping during frequency jumps in a nonlinear system of phase self-adjustment
Abstract
Conditions are derived for maintaining synchronous regime during frequency jumps in a phase self-adjustment system. It is shown that in a number of cases, transient processes during frequency jumps can be accompanied by phase slipping, leading to temporary breakdown of synchronous regime. If as a result of the frequency jumps the misalignment does not exceed the lock-in band of the system, then it is shown that slipping is possible only when lock-in is characterized by a separatrix critical cycle.
